 * I have resolved this issue. It turned out that I had set the site address (URL)
   different than the wordpress URL. However, in my .htaccess file for the site,
   I also had a forward to the wordpress URL. This created other problems as well(
   can you say loop?).
 * The plugin now works as it should – thank you.
