 * Hey [@jcarenoptonlinenet](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jcarenoptonlinenet/),
   any word from ACFPro about the auto-save = auto publish issue?

 * Hey Yui,
 * Just trying to clarify here what you mean about using “actual plugins” and “modern
   themes” and about “legacy burdens” being used on “old sites”.
 * I listed my plugins and issues in my earlier comment, but I wanted to add that
   my website is only a few months old. It is not an old website, and we are using
   very popular, up-to-date plugins.

 * I am also having this issue, with the following behaviour:
 * Previewing any changes to existing pages actually publishes those changes to
   the live page. Seems to make the preview feature pointless.
 * The auto-save function also seems affected by this, as auto-saves are automatically
   pushed to the live site as well. Normally, when I make changes to a page, the
   auto-save saves a draft of what I was working on but didn’t update the live page.
   Now it does. That means I could be in the middle of typing a sentence, and if
   the auto-save cycles it will push that half-written sentence to the live page.
 * We too are using the ACF Pro plugin and have updated to 5.5.
 * I am being told by people on my team that this is how WordPress works now and
   the new process should be to switch live pages to Draft, then make changes, then
   publish again. However, I haven’t seen this in any documentation or change logs,
   so can anyone confirm that is true? It doesn’t seem practical to me.

 * Re-install the contact form 7 plugin?

 * It has broken many things for my site as well, making it practically unusable
   for developers or maintenance. Here are just some of the issues that updating
   to 5.5 caused:
 * -Red boxes suddenly appearing around all my Contact Form 7 forms.
    -Custom blocks
   using Advanced Custom Fields PRO all disappeared. -“Previous” and “Next” events
   buttons no longer work in the The Events Calendar plugin. -VamTam builder plugin
   no longer loads the builder in the backend of pages. -Previewing page changes
   also updates the live page for some reason, not just previews them? -Page revisions
   don’t seem to be accurate.
 * And the list goes on and on. My team and I seem to be finding a new problem every
   other day that are taking very long to fix. At this point, we’ll likely revert
   to a previous version until all this is sorted out.

 * I am having the same issue on all my contact forms after updating the plugin
   and would like some help. Using the default theme is not an option for me, unfortunately.
 * **Edit:**
 * Here is an example from my site, but it is appearing on all forms on my site:
   [https://family-enterprise-xchange.com/pag-coaches/](https://family-enterprise-xchange.com/pag-coaches/)
 * It looks like an extra field was added (div.wpcf7-response-output) that contains
   a border style and is showing by default: [https://imgur.com/psO21L8](https://imgur.com/psO21L8)
 * And when an actual error/alert should appear, it is now hidden: [https://imgur.com/7tl9oYJ](https://imgur.com/7tl9oYJ)
 * Again in its default state upon page load: [https://imgur.com/JW6pZdI](https://imgur.com/JW6pZdI)
