 * Ok, forget it.
 * I’m a bit disillusioned with WP, I’m recommending my clients switch to more stable
   blogging software where helpful support forums are available.

 * I have read that it’s possible to create an account on wordpress.com, starta
   blog, use Manage>Import to import from new blogger, then Manager>Export to create
   a wordpress export file.
 * Go to Admin page of the wordpress.org self-hosted blog and import this file.
 * (thanks to niltiac)
 * I havnt tried it yet though.
 * Hope this helps someone else out there.

 * Profile Pics Plugin should do it, but has a BUG, author says she will fix it
   soon though, check her site: (scroll down)

 * Or search the Plugins section here for ‘Profile Pics Plugin’.

 * It’s seems to be a problem that is affecting a lot of people now. Hannah has
   said on her site that it’s an issue with IE7 which she will try to fix asap.
   (
   I am on IE6, but maybe one of the upgrades has screwed this up ?).
 * So if you run in to this problem, you could look over at her site:

 * Thanks pianosteve, but I am using a tiny (1.4k) image.
 * I’ve just spent another couple of hours trying to figure out what’s happening.
 * I know the plugin is trying to upload, because if I try an invalid file type (
   say .mp3) I get the alert box.
 * So near and yet so far. 🙁

 * Such a shame this doesn’t work. My client specifically wants author pictures
   and the deadline approaches.
 * I have looked really closely at the code, but I can’t figure this out. Is there
   anywhere I can go for help with this ? (Plug-in author does not respond).
 * Is there another plug-in that does this ?
 * thank you… 🙁

 * Hi Hannah,
 * I have the plugin working now with the default image,
    but when I try to upload
   a new image from:
 * Your Profile page
    Profile Picture
 * I can Browse and locate the file, then click Update Profile button, but the file
   is not uploaded, the default picture remains as Current:
 * I have the permissions of Authors folder set to 777.
 * Can you suggest anything please ?
 * Thank you.
 * Paul

 * Interesting comment drmike.
    I still wonder why the code has to build the link
   that way, but I’m a PHP/WP noob, so, what do I know… 🙁
 * Thanks for the reply.

 * Here is the reply I got from my domain hosts Digitalis (australia) :
    —————-
   that link is being blocked by our http firewall.
 * Any links which have variables that contain full urls in them will fail – I’m
   sorry but there is no way around this as this is how hackers commonly hack accounts
   by loading remote code into insecure local scripts.
    —————
 * Nice simple answer !
    NOW I have to figure out why WP is building a link like
   that with the full redirect url in it. Anyone have a clue ?
 * Hope this helps.
 * Paul.
