When I disable that, and also the adapted left position, everything works normal (that is, how I expected it and prefer it to work.) So I’ll just change the css file. Thanks! Not solved by emptying cache. When scrolling the page the WP dashboard column scrolls, not the page. Unfortunately the restored images look the same bad. Maybe they’ve been compressed more often than twice. But I found I have a pretty recent backup with most of the images in their previous state. So that saves a lot of work.
