 * It was a server memory problem. The hosting company raised a memory limit (the
auto-upgrade used too much memory so it wouldn’t work) and the auto-upgrade went
   through.

 * I even tried typing in the “upgrade.php” link manually out of curiosity and it
returned, “No Upgrade Required – Your WordPress database is already up-to-date.”

 * It was Gumblar according to the host company and they fixed it:

 * I renamed the plugins directory to plugins.hold and created a blank folder called“
plugins”. All the problems went away so I assume it was a plugin conflict.

 * That page is blank, too. (wp-admin/plugins.php) I’ll check the link you gave.
But I just noticed another problem too: the Post Edit page is inaccessible as
well (wp-admin/edit.php); this one gives me a browser error that the page is
not available on the remote server. It was working fine an hour ago, bfore this
   problem started.

 * I can’t access any of them to deactivate, at least from the menu; the “Editor”
   page under plug-ins is blank.

 * The plugins page disappeared again. I am assuming that it will return but if
someone could shed some light on this situation, I would appreciate it. Also,
the site suddenly stopped displaying excerpts.

 * Strangely, the plugins menu reappeared. I had clicked on “Plugins” several times,
yielding nothing, and then, all of a sudden, it returned, twenty minutes after
   disappeared.
