 * I get the same error. I’ve got an SSL certificate and the same thing happens.
   An SSL certificate isn’t needed for sandbox/test mode. Looks like a bug in s2member.
   If I fix it or find out any other information I’ll post here.

 * I’ve tried very hard to find the issue but I can’t. The simplest solution to 
   this problem is to hack s2member so it doesn’t display the error message when
   it doesn’t auto-return to the registration form. Rather I made it display a message
   like “Thank You for your payment! The registration link has been sent to your
   PayPal email. Please allow up to 15 minutes for it to arrive otherwise contact
   Support”.
 * It is not a big deal that it can’t auto-return 20% of the time as the customer
   can just register via the link sent to his/her email. It’s just better if the
   customer doesn’t have to see the error.
