In reply to: [Go Live Update Urls] double https addedThank you! That’s an amazing response for plugin help. When restoring from backup I found that my host is using the LiteSpeed web server to host my website – a new warning on my Updraft dashboard. I wonder if that causes any bugs?
I have the issue resolved. Thanks very much and have a great day!

In reply to: [Ultimate Nofollow] classic editor plugin advice and noreferrer questionAh, I did find a follow-up that my site might be okay, because it is https
https://support.performancefoundry.com/article/186-noopener-noreferrer-on-my-links
Lost referrer tracking should only be an issue if you have a non-secure http connection in the mix. The “noopener noreferrer” tag should not impact https transfers (i.e from your https site to another https site).
Have I got this correct?

In reply to: [Ultimate Nofollow] Why is this plugin closed?I’ve had this plugin installed for a couple of years and (one reason I) have avoided updating to Gutenberg because I like using this. It appears to be actively updated now and I’m looking at making updates to my site; installing Gutenberg and then the Classic editor plugin.
I assume if you update to Gutenberg you still need to install the Classic Editor Plugin and then this will still work?
Can you please answer a very basic question for me, and confirm if/whether using the “open in a new tab” adds on something that causes a “no referrer” and is a bad option for affiliate links? I checked via my text editor and I can’t see that it has been added, but I’ve seen references to it in articles like this one: https://blogaid.net/ultimate-guide-for-creating-links-in-wordpress/

In reply to: [WordPress Importer] fails to download and import file attachmentsThat is interesting @squalle69. I don’t think my photo media attachments would have special characters, but I’ll look. I’m also not sure how I would break up the XML file that I exported from my other WordPress site, but I’ll look into it!

In reply to: Limit Login Attempts plugin does not seem to workI was looking for an alternative to Limit Login attempts. Thank you jbd7!

In reply to: Installing a New ThemeA better alternative is for you to send a link where you’ve uploaded the image to a image hosting service, like imgur.com. Then others can see and help or benefit too!
Just to make sure we’re on the same page, make sure you have followed these steps:
– download the theme to your computer
– From your WordPress dashboard of your website on your local host
Go to Appearance > Add New Themes
Click > Upload
Click > browse, find the zip file of your theme on your computer
Click > Install Now
After you’ve installed the theme, hover over the image of the theme and click > ActivateThe really important step is you’ll *have* to hover over the image of your WordPress theme before you’ll be able to see the Activate button (that’s why you don’t see the activate button on my image – linked to above – either.)

In reply to: Installing a New ThemeAre you on your WordPress dashboard? Do you see this? To the right of “Themes 2” is “Add New” in blue.

In reply to: Can't login/find localhost on own serverI found your question while trying to solve a similar problem on Wamp for Windows; after a restart of my computer, I couldn’t navigate to my local sites.
I really don’t know enough to know if you are having the same problem :), but I found out from my techie son that I needed to make sure Wamp was running before I try to navigate to my local site in my browser. A really basic thing to someone who’s an expert, but not to me!

In reply to: Installing a New ThemeHere’s what I did:
From your WordPress dashboard of your website on your local host
Go to Appearance > Add New Themes
Click > Upload
Click > browse, find the zip file of your theme on your computer
Click > Install Now
After you’ve installed the theme, hover over the image of the theme and click > ActivateForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: admin barTo change the color of your dashboard go to Users>Your profile. At the bottom of the page >Update Profile.
I can’t remember if you can change things other than the color there, but I found doing this useful to notify me if I’m on a test site or a live site.

In reply to: [CE Nofollow to WP-Link] Quit Working?!I did finally find Ultimate Nofollow and it looks exactly like CE Noflollow to WP-Link looked. Whew. I remember when I installed CE NoFollow none of the other plugins gave you control for each individual link!

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] Twenty Twelve 1.2 Release Notes?Thank you! I thought I had subscribed to comments on this post, but I guess it didn’t work. I’m glad I checked back.
Your explanation is so helpful! Exactly the kind of explanation I was looking for. And I will definitely come back here when I tackle child themes.

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] Twenty Twelve 1.2 Release Notes?Yep, I’m not venturing into anything other than using the dashboard until I’m comfortable with the code and learn how to make a child theme.
And yes, I have backups, but if I have to use them that’s one more thing to learn – when I finally thought I could breathe more freely for a minute!
I wish they released an explanation of what the updates of 2012 are with the new version.

In reply to: [Twenty Twelve] Twenty Twelve 1.2 Release Notes? Is there anywhere that a non-code explanation of the changes can be found? I don’t “speak code” yet. I just got everything working on my site a couple of weeks ago, so I would really like to not break anything. 🙂
