In my opinion, your change of option is totally illogical. And for me, as for many other users, your plugin loses all its interest.
It was not difficult to keep both options. Or at least allow the choice of role, other than only directory-contributor (suscriber, keymaster…). Every people does not have just one plugin on its website.
But I’m not resentful, I can send you the .PO file in French 🙂 It’s not 100% translated but there is the essential. If the plugin fulfilled its original function again, I will be able to finish the complete translation very quickly.

The problem is very simple to understand. Since you’ve added role-based permission, it’s blocking public submissions and for users.
It’s enough to propose to activate this function or not. That’s all 🙂
After that, for me your plugin will work very well.

I installed version 2.1. Indeed, the “Auto Publish listings” bug is fixed.
Now there is the big problem that users can not add an address. Here is the screenshot:
