I’ve had Zotpress installed for some time now, but hadn’t really started using it seriously till last week – and was very pleased with the improvements since I first installed it! I hope you get the dissertation written – and once again, thanks for a plugin that I’ll be using more in the future (change of job means I have more time to blog etc!)

In reply to: Allow user to set own password.Ah, I see, if you click on the “reset” it allows you to override the suggested one – I’d just not thought of clicking on it, as I didn’t want it to reset to something I’d never remember!

In reply to: Allow user to set own password.OK, I see that it’s a feature that’s been added in 4.3 – am I right in thinking that there’s now no option to select your own password. Sure, have something to ensure that someone has x characters, with the relevant mix of case, special, numbers etc,. but I can forsee frequent password resets, and lots of postits on computers if you can’t select your own. (e.g. I set a new blog up yesterday & I haven’t got a clue what the p/w is. It’s going to be v. difficult for many.
What do I need to do to the template … at the moment, it’s turning the whole of the first sentence into a title – putting it in bold.
I’ve tried adding<h1> Google plus post </h1>at the start of the template & it’s
put that just before the rest of what it decided was “content” rather than title.

I’d also got the same issue. In the end, I unticked Table IV-A 7 and it stopped appending miscellaneous items to the URL.
My understanding is that by unticking it, I’m going to always have the same image when someone returns to the page, rather than return to where they were in the album. Is that correct?
In my case, I’m not too worried, as all my albums only have 2 images in (before/after) editing.
However, I could see that there may come a time when I want to have more items. Is it possible to override it for individual albums.

In reply to: Where is ftp connection information stored??Sorry for taking so long to get back to you – I was also talking to people at work; who have just told me that someone else sorted it & to contact him.
Both blogs’ files had the same owner, I’d already checked that.Once I get it working, I’ll confirm back, in case anyone else has similiar problems.

In reply to: Where is ftp connection information stored??Thanks! That’s sort of what I was asking. I’ve got two blogs, one installed automatically & the other not. The automatic one will update, the other won’t, so was trying to compare the settings.
I did look at the wp-config.php file, but clearly not hard enough 🙂 – will look again.

In reply to: Twenty Eleven: Remove Header ImageI’ve had a similar problem, (though the circles have gone, now that I’ve removed the images from the Media library.
My comment, while I can see that it’s a theme, rather than a WordPress issue, is that it would be useful, given that you have to upload the images via the theme (rather than the normal media uploader) to have a note in the theme to the effect of “If you want to change the images you’ve uploaded, you’ll have to go to the Media Library (via the dashboard) to remove them”
I wasted a bit of time trying to remove them (including going via FileZilla to the files & just removing them!)

The description here, and in http://is.gd/dq9sM would seem to suggest that the default is that post writers get the notification.
However, i’ve tried and it’s only the admin getting them.I’ve tried both with my test user as an “author” – self publishing & also as a “contributor” with the admin publishing.
In all cases, I’ve had an anonymous person writing the comment.It’s set so that anonymous users can comment, but it has to be moderated on the first post.
See screenshot:Clearly, I’ve set something up incorrectly, but I’m mystified as to what it could be!

In reply to: Notify Post Authors About CommentsI’ve also got a similar problem. According to the blurb on this plugin the default should be that the post writer gets the comments, but that’s not happened with my test poster.
I’ve set the test account up to be an author; should I have selected something else?

I’ve had a play & have installed JWall’s “front-page-category” plugin & also Dennis Hoppe’s “Page post association” plugin.
I realised that I didn’t need Category page one with those two.

In reply to: google analytics not workingI’ve recently updated one of my blogs to the newest version (1.01) & discovered that it wasn’t working.
I’ve tried removing & reinstalling etc. It then struck me that I should look at the settings .. and the settings page for Google Analytics was blank. (I’ve got WordPress 2.8.4)
Version 0.68 (which has a different plugin author) was working fine in an different blog, so I’ve just put the working version in the other blog.

In reply to: Video Privacy?You can make certain posts visible to logged in users. Could you do that & then just remember to put your YouTube videos in posts that you’ve set up to be logged in only? I use the post levels plugin to do that (though I’m not looking at restricting videos, just key posts)
