 * Hi [@photocrati](https://wordpress.org/support/users/photocrati/),
 * Cais, this issue is still hitting my friend’s site. She has upgraded her account
   temporarily to an even more “unlimited” one than her previous “unlimited” one.
 * I’ve just tried again, setting the theme to 2016 deactivating all plugins other
   than the NextGen and still the Edit Thumbnails pops up a blank screen. I tried
   it on both Firefox and Chrome in case it made a difference.
 * I also tried installing Imsanity and resizing images in case it was an issue
   with images being too big (I know there are some large JPG files in her uploads
   but Imsanity did quite a bit of resizing).
 * What can we do now? Any ideas, please?

 * Cais, thanks for the suggestions.
 * I’m not sure why permalinks would matter but I went to check anyway.
 * Permalinks were set to a custom value which was equal to post name!
    `/%postname%/`
   I’ve changed it to post name properly and cleared the cache too.
 * That made no difference.

 * Ok. Thanks.
 * In which case can I ask a slightly different question?
 * If I were to design a mobile site specifically for mobiles (so I can stay with
   the theme I’m using and which I like but have maybe a separate subdomain or .
   mobi website for mobile) is there some way to re-direct to that neatly when a
   mobile device comes along? Or is that down to the theme again?

 * Sorry, esmi. I didn’t realise I was asking a theme specific question.
 * I was hoping that I could somehow set up a parallel site with different information(
   cut down information and different presentation) using WP to host it. And moreover
   that it was on the same admin panel as my main site.
 * Are you saying that all mobile sites are driven from the theme then?

 * I’m using the ProPhoto theme from prophoto.com but not the newest version as
   the version I have has been (thus far) fine for me. I know they’ve done some
   work on mobile in the latest version but I’m exploring options rather than just
   buying the latest theme only to find it doesn’t do what I want any more than
   the last version of the theme did.

 * Ok, I’ve sussed it. This was so stupid it was brilliant!
 * I had been adding my photos to my pre-existing blog by linking from Blogger to
   a subdirectory called “/blog” on my main site.
 * Of course my permalink for the blog page was “/content/blog” before I changed
   the site URL but after I changed the site URL it became “/blog” so I guess the
   browser was surfing to that and finding it not allowed and thus erroring.
 * By changing my page for the blog from “/blog” to “/myblog” it avoided the issue
   completely.
 * All sorted!
