But I did in the end discover the solution so came here in case my solution might help anyone else. I updated to the latest version of WP by going to my host and then“ Fantastico’. After upgrading there I got a message to do various things one of which was: * – delete all the files listed in /home/mydomain/public_html/fantastico_fileslist. txt * I deleted it using file manager. This has got rid of the problem. I really appreciate it! * The problem wasn’t fixed with this but it did give me a clue as to what might be wrong. I deactivated all the plugins then gradually reactivated them. It was a plugin causing the problem. I have reinstalled 3 times using the fantastico tool. * I tried requesting a new password but that was not sent to me. I went to the blog address and was not able to reach it.This message was given * > Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Any idea what can go wrong when installing via a host?
