 * I am really surprised that vBulletin still has not created a WP version yet after
   all this time.
 * I am using the Simple Press forum plugin which is full-featured and quite robust
   and looks like vbulletin.
 * The plugin is free to download at [http://simple-press.com/](http://simple-press.com/)
   but for support questions, you have to pay for membership.
 * If you are serious about running a forum on your WP site, then I highly recommend
   Simple Press and paying $10 for a minimum 1-month subscription to answer any
   set up questions you may have. It also sells plugins for this forum to extend
   its functionality.

 * All of them.
 * I only allow registrations on my main site and I get a notification when they
   register.

 * Thank you for your reply.
    I have set the default role in my standard config.
   Just to be clear, I have a multi-site. I have set the default role as Subscriber
   for my main site and several subsites, but left it as “None” for the others.
   Any other suggestions for a fix? I am still having the same issue.

 * Hi Jose
    Thank you for your reply – better late than never! 🙂 As a non-techie
   and web developer, I have very little knowledge of how to put your reply to use
   for me. I tried uploading the css file are you directed, without changing the
   contents, but the result is the same. I shall engage someone at freelancer.com
   to help me resolve this quickly. Thanks again for your reply. I appreciate you
   taking the time to write such a detailed reply.

 * Hi Timothy
 * Thank you for your reply.
 * I would like to update this thread to say that I have thankfully managed to resolve
   this issue and restored my site to the way it was before the incident.
 * What I did was engage a programmer at Freelancer.com and got him to restore just
   the users from my 2 month-old MySql site backup which he did and my site is now
   restored with 0% data loss as far as I can tell.
 * The US$30 for his one hour’s work was well-spent as I had worried over this issue
   for almost a week with no resolution, in spite of all the kind help and suggestions
   from this forum and on WPMUdev.org.
 * As I am not a programmer and not technically inclined or trained, even with all
   the suggestions, I was not able to help myself. So the lesson learned here for
   me is to pony up and bring in some expert help as soon as possible. The relatively
   small cost is well worth it, compared to the worry, frustration and lost productivity
   as well as potential site income.
 * Cheers all! 🙂

 * Hi Timothy
 * Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post.
 * I do have a site back up but it is 2 months old, 17 May 2014. How do I restore
   the deleted members? I am not familiar with MySql and I don’t know how to use
   line commands. If you have some pointers for me to restore the deleted members
   so no (or not much) data since May 17 is lost, I would greatly appreciate it!
 * I see you are a support staff at WPMU; I am a member there and have posted this
   same question there as I was desperate for some help. The thread is at [http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/overnight-something-seems-to-have-happened-to-my-site](http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/overnight-something-seems-to-have-happened-to-my-site).

 * Also, instead of having the thumbnails appear above the post, can it have text
   wrapped around it?

 * Hi [@ipstenu](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ipstenu/)
 * Thank you for the link. I used it and it works well. Just what I needed, thanks!
   🙂
 * Apart from changing the tagline, I was able to set the defaults for quite a few
   other settings too, so its a really useful plugin to me.
 * [@wpmu](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wpmu/) DEV, thank you for your information
   too. I will check it out.

 * Thank you for your reply, but that is not the solution I was looking for as it
   pertains only to individual blogs.
 * I am asking for the change to be made as a network admin of the MU site, where
   EVERY blog created will have the same tagline changed from the default text.
 * In the multi-user admin screen, there is no Settings -> General option. There
   is only Settings -> Network Settings which has no option to change the tagline
   sitewide.
 * Do you know how this can be done?

   for me.

 * I solved my problem with this issue by downloading the installation files and
   uploading them to my site, instead of using the auto updater. It worked ok again
   when I did this.

 * I am unable to login. Every page throws up the same error message.

 * Thanks again for your reply.
 * When I log out from my account and view the WP posts, I am unable to post any
   comments as the message “You must be logged in to post a comment” and there’s
   no box for me to type into.
 * I’m asking that since I am unable to comment since I’m not logged in, how are
   these spammers able to post comments without being logged in, or even registered
   as members on my site (as far as I know, they are not registered members)?

 * Hi Seacoast, thank you for your reply and suggestion.
 * I’ve scanned my site at Sucuri and there doesn’t seem to be any issue with hacking.
   Which is a relief to know, at the least.
