 * Just an update that earlier today, deactivating all other plugins allowed WP
   DB Backup to work, but just now, as I was systematically trying to test plugins,
   it wouldn’t work even with all of them deactivated. So I don’t know what the
   answer is. It works on my other blog, but naturally not on my most important
   one.

 * What I think may complicate things, is that I am using membership software (phpMembers)
   so that certain members go to /siteA and certain members go to /siteB, protected
   by login names and passwords.
 * I did a quick read and it doesn’t sound that simple to me, although perhaps what
   I should do is set up a test site and see how it goes. But what do you think
   about the membership folder protection issue?

 * Wishlist seems to come so close to what I want, and the developer says this is
   coming “soon”. Are most of these plugins customizable? I would prefer finding
   one that is almost right and then asking a developer to add to it. Don’t want
   to try to reinvent the wheel, you know?
 * I will keep looking.

 * This is now resolved, thanks to Tom at OneHertz (Mandigo)
 * Hi Deborah,
 * The best way to remove this while keeping the theme in an updatable state is

   to hide it using CSS. Try adding the following into the first field on the HTML
   Inserts page:
 * <style type=”text/css”>
    .postinfo small { display: none; } </style>
 * Hope this helps,
 * Thanks for choosing Mandigo!

 * Then I don’t know what I’m missing here. Of course you back up the files you
   are working with. So what I don’t get is how did the file I replaced, then deleted,
   keep coming back? Oh well; I will learn this too.

 * Before you replied, I went up to the server, deleted the whole theme, and re-
   posted it to the server from a clean copy. Now all is back to original.
 * For the future, what am I supposed to backup (and how) before messing the php
   files? I’m not used to working with databases; was my problem related to that
   somehow?
 * I’m finding the codex a little hard to navigate; wishing I had a book or manual
   that focused on how to modify templates, and then learn other intermediate things.
   The books I’ve glanced at are expensive at $30, and spend so much time on how
   to download a theme.
 * Thanks for all help
