I see that the functions.php file I needed to change was in wp-includes, and not in my theme. I clicked on that table, and there are a lot of options there, such as post_author and post_date and so on. I’ve never had to do this before, so I am really lost and just followed the directions as best I could. * I’m also not sure about how to update permalink structure. I followed the suggestion here to deactivate the WP Automatic Upgrade plugin. Now, when I upgrade from the ‘tools’ selection on the dashboard, I get this message: * _Downloading update from [http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip](http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip)_ * Unpacking the core update * Could not create directory: /home/qselpkpt/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/core * Installation Failed * I have no idea what to do now. I always screw something up when I have to do a complete re-install. And I’m going to be very upset if I have to do a complete reinstall every single time there’s an upgrade. * Does anyone understand the message I posted above? I have followed everything to the letter. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has worked thus far.
