Cleared and Turned off all of my cache and or CDN settings/plugins until after I reinstalled 2.4.2 * Then I went and reinstalled 2.4.2, before doing this I did install try and then delete all the other post reorder plugins, none of the other plugins with drag and drop capability worked right either. (Intuitive Custom Post Order, Custom Post Order, WP Sort Order, Custom Category/Post Type Post Order, & Post Type Order). * And now it works? Nothing wonky, not slow or hanging. when the plugin was turned off and I deleted everything the post went back to the standard wp settings date order. * And even though I deleted everything, purged the database etc., when reloaded the posts/portfolio/faqs/etc all went back to the custom/random order I had set up originally which was quite custom. I figured the post organization would have been completely erased along with everything else, (which I was not happy about, more than 5000 post & 5000 portfolio entries, not something you want to have to do over and over), surprise it did not delete, and yet the problems did. * It seems like an extra deep dive into clearing out your database cache or any glitches or corruption (be safe, back the database up first, just in case), deleting the old version of the plugin first, using a database cleaning plugin like (wp optimize) that is safe with your current setup, and then reinstalling (all installing/ deleting of plugins I did directly in the admin, only the rollback 2.4.1 was downloaded, link in post above, to my desktop and uploaded via upload file button). This was a ton of extra effort, then just installing a plugin update, but it works now. * Cheers, hope this helps someone * Forum: [Plugins](https://wordpress.org/support/forum/plugins-and-hacks/) In reply to: [[The Events Calendar] Events added to blog page](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/events-added-to-blog-page/) * Thread Starter [dreamfaction](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dreamfaction/) * (@dreamfaction) * [11 years, 4 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/events-added-to-blog-page/#post-5522005) * Well Brook/Bluejay, * The issues I have seen in various locations (forums) and posted by multiple users of TEC is that their in page title bar (Page Titles) not the title tag (or Tab Title) but the actual title within a page/post displays text generated by the TEC plugin (i.e. Upcoming Events, Different Dates: day, month, year or possibly even nothing at all. * In my theme “Avada” an individual page is built via calling several different php files: * Header.php Navigation.php Page/Post_template.php (Content_Area) Sidebar.php Footer.php * And disappointingly, TEC does not use the standard post/page.php files of generic WordPress, and was only tested using a generic wordpress theme (twenty-fourteen). * The TEC plugin default templates, are instead broken into various (custom formatted) php files: month.php, day.php, list.php, and single-event.php and single-event- content.php (the last two causing many of these issues), So in order to get these templates to work with your specific theme you will be required to follow their directions to create a new copy of each one causing you an issue and custom code it and any of the multiple css files, to your specific theme’s look, layout and functions, in order to get it to work properly. * Hence, I stopped using their default templates, started with my Theme’s default template, and customized only the files I had to use from their files, created a 1 merged css file of all theirs and customized it as well to work with my theme. * But had to get considerable assistance from my theme developer to get each aspect working reasonably well, not perfect, but adequate. I worked with my theme developer to troubleshoot several issues I was having. * First off if your site is in development mode (private), all the event TEC posts will not show up on the front end of your sites blog. The site admin/settings/ reading blog/post page must be set to view your blog page. * Secondly, if you have a blog category set to a title of Events or the url is / events/ then the TEC posts may also not show up, even after changing the events calendar settings/url to something other than Events/event as I did changing them to calendar/calendars yet there was still a glitch. * But I went through multiple issues with my theme developer, as well as some code editing of my theme to get it to work as intended.
