 * “Are you saying you want to be able to manually write posts and then upload them
when you have an internet connection again? That’s not possible. Everything is
stored in the database and although you can download the database you can’t type
posts directly into it. I’d suggest you just write your posts in notepad and
save them and then copy and paste them over when you can :)”
 * I, too, want to write posts offline – in my case I want to edit several and,
with satellite connection, that takes a long time. I had looked through my WordPress
backup file on a text editor and found all the posts I want to edit. Is there
any reason why I shouldn’t copy the current .sql database file into a text editor,
make the changes and copy it back again?
It would then follow that I could,
   possibly, write posts into it.

 * Please ignore all of the above. Checked my Firefox security settings, which had
been set to remove cookies when Firefox was closed down and during some ugrading
it had reset itself to keeping all cookies.
    Deleted the lot which immediately
fixed my problem! Now all I have to do is resolve the cookie question, but can
stop peering at lines of incomprehensible code. Thankyou, samboll, o genius.
Only wish I’d asked 10 hours ago.

 * “got my WP template integrated into my website:”
 * WordPress loads into an iframe on my home page. The temporary home page I’m using
to test things until this is all fixed is:

 * “Comments use cookies. As long as WP thinks the same user is their it does not
reset. Log out and view and you won’t see this.”
    I closed the computer down,
went and did some shopping, cooked and ate tea, turned it on again, went to the
address above without logging in to WordPress and the name was still showing
as ‘me’ and the address as ‘liz@elizabethdoidge.com’. I have asked a friend to
test it from her computer but the site was busy!!
