 * Issue for #2 was SELinux. Here’s the fix
 * sudo /usr/sbin/semanage fcontext -a -t httpd_sys_rw_content_t “/var/www/mydomain.
   com(/.*)?”
 * sudo restorecon -R -v /var/www/mycomain.com

 * I opened a support request and was told to edit the plugin code. I asked specifically
   about a functions.php call like the one you provided and was told it wasn’t possible.
   Anyway it works. Thank you. You can let Phil in premium support know that this
   is how it’s done.

 * So it seems to be updating when I do it from the advanced tab, but not automatically
   updating. Any ideas?

 * That did the trick. It was my misunderstanding. I thought having “Themes” enabled
   below that would be enough to get the themes to update.
 * Thank you for your help and for your swift replies!

 * Thanks. I tried adding the gist, then clicking on force updates on the advanced
   tab and it still is not working.
