Thank you for your reply. I added the code you suggested to my functions.php, and it works when I try to upload files via Dashboard > Media > Add New and click on ‘Select Files’.
However, when I use drag and drop for that section, multiple files are still uploading. Please let me know how to prevent this from happening.

Additionally, when I upload files via the Dashboard > Media > Library > Add New option, I can still select multiple files and use drag-and-drop for multiple uploads.
