It helps a lot to improve. * We considered your feedback as well as the feedback from two other users from last week in a meeting today to improve the advertising in our plugins. * **General and cross-selling:** In the next version of Real Media Library we will disable all cross-selling ads. We understand the criticism of this. As a result, the checkbox “Products of devowl.io” will disappear, because there will be no more cross-selling ads to deactivate. * **Up-selling:** The up-selling ads will be slightly adjusted so that they only appear when you set a limit or try to use a feature that is only available in a PRO version to make it less intrusive. * Consequently, the PRO versions of our plugins will no longer contain advertising( currently only cross-selling ads). * **Settings in one place:** This is a complicated topic, which we have discussed internally a few times, because you can have different philosophies about it. Some people like you want to have a settings center for each plugin, where you can find all the settings of a plugin. On the other hand, if you use several plugins, and they have their own settings center, it can get confusing, too. You have a lot of settings centers to control in different ways. That’s why we try to integrate the settings where they would be meaningful if the functions of our plugins were a core feature of WordPress. * The new version of the Real Media Library with the changes regarding the ads will be released by the end of the week. I would like to respond to every point you mentioned in your feedback. * 1. Ads and data collection: We have never sent any data to a third party server without your consent, especially no data containing personal advertising information. Furthermore, we do not operate an advertising network. What is included in the Real Media Library are up-selling (“Buy Real Cookie Banner PRO”) and cross-selling ads (“Buy Plugin X from the same manufacturer”) to promote the paid version of our products. After your feedback and the feedback from two other users in the last few days, we have decided to drop all cross-selling ads in the next version of Real Media Library. I hope this will make the plugin more user-friendly from your point of view. * 2. “basic functionalities are separated into multiple plugins”: Can you explain to us what exactly you mean by this statement? We would like to improve ourselves if we knew that we could do better. * 3. Plugin size: Yes, Real Media Library is larger than the mentioned alternative Mediamatic. But this is not true, that this is caused by bloatware. We use modern React development and 3-party library from the modern JavaScript ecosystem. This includes that we write our code type-safe in TypeScript. Therefore, code from dependencies as well as source maps for easy debugging are included in our plugin bundle, which makes the plugin a bigger. But as a website owner, you only download about 230 kB of scripts and styles during editing (only for signed-in users; see: [https://imgur.com/mOcF036](https://imgur.com/mOcF036)). * In comparison, Mediamatic is developed in an “old school” jQuery style. This works fine for a few hundred files in your media library, but if you have > 10.000 files in your media library, we can offer you much better performance. * I hope I could help to explain the problem with my explanations. Ich kann dir daher nur Einschätzungen aus unserer Erfahrung mit den Rechtsvorschriften geben. * UpdraftPlus erstellt meines Wissens nach nur im Backend deiner Website ein Backup. Das heißt, es wird nie ein UpdraftPlus Script im Frontend der Website deiner Besucher geladen. Daher sollte UpdraftPlus keine Cookies setzen. Außerdem wird kein z.B. JavaScript eingebunden, dass eine Verbindung zwischen dem Client deines Besuchers und (in deinem Fall) Google Drive hergestellt und personenbezogene Daten übertragen könnte. * **Für das Cookie Banner heißt das, dass du unserer Rechtsauffassung nach weder für UpdraftPlus noch für Google Drive eine Einwilligung erholen musst.** Daher gibt es für beide Services auch keine Cookie-Vorlage in Real Cookie Banner. Was du aber vermutlich machen musst, ist den Einsatz von Google Drive in deiner zu Datenschutzerklärung erwähnen, sofern in dem Backup auf personenbezogene Daten deiner Besucher enthalten sind (z.B. Logs mit IP-Adressen oder E-Mail-Adressen aus einer Newsletter-Liste). I checked our support system but could not find any support ticket from you until you gave us a bad review. This is sad because we always try to help our customers. * It sounds strange to me that you have problems that should originate from Real Media Library after disabling the plugin. Once the plugin is disabled, no PHP code is executed anymore. What may remain in the database is a function that only applies to the Real Media Library tables (we don’t delete them because you might only deactivate the plugin temporarily) then you use the plugin (PHP code). * Please give us the specific error message you get, and we will try to fix it together with you.
