 * I have the same issue with the sidebar not displaying in FF- I’ve only just installed
   it so I thought I had an install error, but once I saw this post I tried in Chrome
   and works perfectly. I tried disabling AdBlock and LSO cookie block addons, but
   that hasn’t helped. Am using FF 48.0.2 – not sure what other add on would be
   blocking it (nothing obvious) but I’m at least happy that my install is confirmed
   working!

 * additionally
    server is Apache the cache directory does contain a folder that
   corresponds to the site (this did not appear automatically, only after updating
   config and htaccess) This is the cache directory: /public_html/wp-content/cache/
   supercache/www.humblebeeabroad.com
 * both the cache folder and the site folder within cache contain an index.html
   file – the site folder index file has site content in it
