 * I submitted a ticket with the host. I’ve used them for several years so hopefully,
   they can tell me something. Thanks!

 * Re: “the auto install fails and gives various reasons” one time it says the plugin
   is already installed, but I can’t see it in the Plugin directory via FTP. Another
   time it locks up on “Installing Plugin.” Another time it says “Plugin installation
   failed.”
 * What happens when you try to upgrade?> I don’t know that it’s not upgrading or
   just not removing the message that I need to upgrade. I tried auto upgrade and
   it said it failed. So I tried it manually, followed all the steps, etc. And it
   seemed to go okay but the message is still there and it says I’m running 3.1.
 * “the Dashboard doesn’t show them” You mean the plugins tab? No, the plugins themselves.
   I can see Akismet and Hello Dolly on the Plugins tab. When I try to install a
   plugin automatically, I get errors as noted above. When I install manually, even
   though I can see the folder and it all looks okay via FTP, the Dashboard still
   only shows Akismet and Hello Dolly. And then, even when I deleted the plugins
   manually via FTP, it now says the plugin can’t install because it’s already there(
   did this for sem-dofollow, for one).
