I did add another plug-in, “Bad Behavior”, that filters out a lot of those questionable spiders and the various spammers. And I don’t remember what happened at the time, but it was an update that was causing users Dashboards to crash. It’s harmless. It says that there’s an update available and while the update appears to go through the dashboard still says the update is available. When I update from either the plugin page or the dashboard it says the plugin was updated but that the update is also still available. * I’ve also gotten error messages when I try to update it more than once or twice. Now it’s working. I tried that, but it didn’t seem to work. I used it in the regular edit post area of the admin page in the HTML option, but it didn’t seem to have any effect and then when I went to look at it again it was gone.
