 * `a.sd-button > br {
   display: none;}
 * A designer friend gave me this CSS and it seems to have fixed the eggs!
 * He says: “for some reason there are 3 [br] tags inside the buttons on the homepage
   but not on the article pages. So I just hid any that appears inside a share button.”
 * so it’s a kludge, but it’s working for now 🙂

 * I installed Theme Switcha, switched to Twenty Twenty-Three, and got:
 * > There has been a critical error on this website.
 * Same with Twenty Twenty-Four and Twenty Twenty-Five.
 * So I switched the whole site to 2023, and the share icons don’t show up at all
   on the front page! [https://imgur.com/a/3jkUovF](https://imgur.com/a/3jkUovF)
 * The share icons are not visible in a single blog post in the 2023 theme. [https://imgur.com/a/PlvF9Wa](https://imgur.com/a/PlvF9Wa)
 * I’ve switched the site back to Blocksy for now.

 * I left it switched off because this is a business site and I can’t leave it in
   a broken state 🙂
 * I’ve switched it on for the next few hours, if someone can have a look. Thanks!

 * > We want to inform you that “**Custom CSS**” is a premium feature of our plugin.
 * I use custom CSS as a part of core WordPress!
 * To be clear: are you telling me that WP Dark Mode purports to put built-in features
   of core WordPress behind a paywall? That’s quite a remarkable thing for a plugin
   to do.

   post” and select style 4 under “General”. Sorry about that 🙂

 * And thanks to the Automattic team for their responses. You have made it extremely
   clear that my original review is correct and that it remains a necessary warning
   to users as to what behaviour they should expect from Automattic going forward.
   Thanks!

 * If Jetpack will suddenly irreversibly block my own stats on my own server unless
   I pay £14 to see the output of my own nginx logs, then this is an indication
   that Jetpack will do the same to other features in the future whenever it possibly
   can.
 * Jetpack has destroyed our trust. This is not a per-site issue. It is precisely
   the sort of thing that future users should be warned about in reviews.
 * Animesh, you have already answered other users on this precise issue. You know
   already that this is what users have an issue with. Your response here therefore
   comes across as disingenuous.

 * ok! Last night’s email headline linked to my post directly, not via public-api.
   We’ll see if the next one’s OK, but this could be fixed now.

 * Looking back through previous subscriber emails (I always subscribe myself, and
   I’m now glad I do), the header in the Nov 16 email correctly links directly to
   the blog – but the header in the Nov 17 email tries going to public-api.wordpress.
   com and doesn’t work.
 * I’m guessing someone at Jetpack thought it would be useful to collect click-through
   data – but got the link wrong.
 * I’ve established that my readers do like clicking through to the original post!
   😀

 * Looks like there’s no way to do it in the child theme (since the child functions.
   php is loaded first), I would indeed need to hack into the base theme, which
   I’ve been avoiding (they didn’t make the relevant function overridable). How
   annoying. But, as I noted, I might leave it to tempt people to click.

 * Yeah, I appreciate I’m asking for the opposite of what most people would want–
   excerpts on the front page, full posts in the email.
 * One thing I’ve noticed with the excerpt method: I end up with a gratuitous spare“
   Read more ›” on that front-page excerpt. Livable-with, but slightly annoying.
   I suppose it’s an additional cue to the reader.
 * Glad you like it 🙂

 * Sorry, that was an unduly snappy answer – you did in fact answer the question
   I asked fully and effectively.
 * I tried the excerpt method today and it worked as expected. I’ll continue and
   see how it goes.
 * I was hoping for something like a tick-box (“send the entire post in email”),
   but I appreciate that every new user option is a problem in itself.

 * That workaround would work, but is extra faff that shouldn’t be necessary – Jetpack
   is supposed to make less work, not more.

 * The Coffee2Code [category images plugin](http://www.coffee2code.com/archives/2004/06/27/plugin-category-images/)
   seems to work with WP 2.1.
