 * Thanks for your suggestions. I have figured it out after trying all sorts of 
   things and re-reading numerous posts. It was ridiculously simple…
 * I removed the www. from the second network’s primary domain. After that I was
   able to login to the dashboard of that domain’s subdomains without issue and 
   add content. The primary network’s primary domain can have the www. in it’s url
   but not in the secondary network.
 * So my setup is a dedicated server running plesk as the management tool. Wildcards
   are setup automatically by plesk so I don’t have to mess with anything. The domains
   are aliases of the primary domain where I did the initial install.
 * So currently I have 2 networks and 8 domains running 11 sites.
 * 1st network has 7 domains and 1 subdomain
    2nd network has 1 domain and 2 subdomains
