To be honest with you, they’re sorta the reason I’m in this situation to begin with, lol… Remember; I called them and was assured that the process of installing another wordpress site was just as simple as the first._“ Just click on the link and it’ll guide you”_ is what they said… So I did… And then I had two urls pointing to the same site. To make it even worse, my old wordpress logon information would do the same…it would literally take me to the new site (both logons would take me to the admin panel of my new site)… * Thus my reason for posting for help on these forums. I was under the impression that I had replaced my old site data with the new; and “overwrite” of sorts… After hours of digging for answers though, I began to learn more about databases and such, and am a bit more confident at this point that there was just an issue with how wordpress was being ‘told’ (by me; accidentally) to extract files… * With that said.. I do plan on contacting them today hoping that they can help. HOWEVER, none of my plugins are present…. and the site is NOT viewable by typing in the url, nor by clicking the “view site” link within the admin/dashboard area… * Thus, there is still something wrong. What I did is obviously a work-around, which was probably NOT the best way to go about doing anything… I’m hoping that while I’ve learned quite a bit from trial & error, that I didn’t screw everything up in the process!!! * Anyways, I’m still open to suggestions. Everything is still there; from my previously working/functional wordpress site (comments, posts, users, etc..)…. I need help! * I have managed to clear my browser cache, and uninstall the 2nd version of wordpress… Now I can get to the ‘set-up’ guide for wordpress (as though I’m a first time user)…. I’m asked to enter the following: * > Database username > Database password Database host Table prefix (if you want > to run more than one WordPress in a single database) * After I enter the info from ‘my SQL’ database (in bluehost), this is the message I get: * > Error establishing a database connection > This either means that the username > and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t > contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database > server is down. > Are you sure you have the correct username and password? > Are you sure that > you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server > is running? * Any help is greatly appreciated!
