 * he is doing it in lots of threads, I’m sure he’ll be banned soon.
 * RE your site, I like it, but the footer doesn’t line up with the body by about
   2px. (in FF3)
 * I would probably not have made the header so tall for myself, but it looks fine.

 * If you’re using photoshop, use save for web & devices (ctrl/cmd+shift+alt+S)
instead of save as. I tend to use jpeg progressive at 80% quality, your images
   will load much faster.
 * And you might consider using Impact for your title, instead of an image. Most
people have impact, and can default to something similar.
 * Again, it will help faster loads.

 * some people do seem like douches though, I agree. I hate people who know a little
bit about something and think it makes them better than those who are just starting
out. People need a bit of respect for the people who taught them what they know,
and need to learn to follow in their footsteps and pass the knowledge on in the
   same way.
 * So you know about php/apache etc, you aren’t special, its not some secret society,
get of your high horse and help others to learn, like others helped you.
    And
don’t forget, even if you are ‘self-taught’ from books or websites… some kind
person chose to share their knowledge with you by writing those sites/books.

 * There’s no uniformity, it just feels like it was spat out by a bad cms into tables.
 * Look into grid based layouts and how to use spacing. Apart from the outside of
the content wrapper, there’s almost no negative space, which makes it feel overly-
   packed and claustrophobic.
 * Some good article on this:

 * And try not to be defensive when people criticize your work.
    The fact that grey
text on a dark background is uncomfortable to read, is not a personal affront
to you, its just something that has been observed by designers to be true. It
tends to work better in print because you can use larger fonts and natural light
seems to help, but on a computer screen, dark text on a dark background is very
difficult to pull off. I would only use it in situations where you are trying
to de-emphasize some text, i.e. if you don’t want the text to be the main focus.

 * The background takes a long time to load… and the design definitely looks better
   without it.

 * Are you _sure_ you’ve set up a sub-domain and not just a folder within your current
domain? A sub domain has to be registered with your hosting providers domain
name servers, which can take some time to propagate.

 * The easiest way to delete all the installation files is if you have shell access,
then you can just do an rm -rf on the whole thing.
 * If you don’t have shell access, your ftp client should let you delete the files.
If you get permission errors where you think there shouldn’t be, you’ll have
   to contact your hosting company.

 * No standard has yet emerged as ‘best’.
Wordpress offers all the versions you
mentioned, out of the box, so I would just stick with it. (I do just stick with
   it)
 * And I wouldn’t call putting ads in a feed ‘best practice’
