In reply to: I am being PlaigarisedI am of the mind that life is too short to practice revenge. At some point you cross the line from protecting yourself and your blog, and not following your blog’s mission. If your blog’s mission is to net sploggers and then do revenge, sue, and harass, then by all means, go right ahead. If your blog has a different mission, then I suggest doing the least that deters the most and get back to business. imo.

In reply to: FontsFYI: Technically, you are talking about typefaces. A font is a collection, or family, or fonts. Blame it on Microsoft which misinformed millions of desktop publishers.

In reply to: I am being PlaigarisedI agree with dgold. Before blogging became popular, RSS feeds were called newsfeeds and used almost exclusively by organizations and news agencies to distribute news articles, announcements, and press releases. The purpose was to engage the media to use these. No one in their right mind would issue a press release on RSS and then ask people to NOT copy it. The whole idea was that they WOULD copy it! Yes, please, please, please put my press release in your newspaper!
To suddenly expect a sea change in that practice is unreasonable. Sending information out on an RSS feeds is akin to copy permission. But one expects this to be beneficial to the author.
Blaitant duplication word for word and not providing atribution is, of course, not what anyone expects, so using the ‘excerpt’ or ‘–more–‘ function ideas and if you can identify plagarists then take care of that in htaccess.
What ever you do, DON’T call an attorney unless you just want to send a letter or issue a TRO. Copyright lawsuits are unbelievably expensive.

In reply to: change image when hover?I need this, too. This javascript, which works for me on html pages, fails to display the mouseover image, but does display the mouseout image and provides a working hyperlink, when inserted into my theme’s sidebar.php file. Any ideas how to get this to work?
<td align=”center”><a HREF=”www.my.website/care” onMouseOver=”rollover(‘Care’)”
onMouseOut=”rollout(‘Care’)”><img SRC=”images/care_0.png” NAME=”Care”

In reply to: Plugin for making tables?This is not a plugin solution, but may work for your users. Most word processors (MSWord, etc) have easy to use table functions AND can save/convert to html. Since the users probably already have the table created in a word processor, just show them how to save as HTML, and then copy the table code into a WP Page or Post.

In reply to: Using PHP code in a pageOthers use runPHP
Editing the wp-admin.css is what I eventually did. Once I got started it was easy. I used the IE web developer tool to identify culprits. Trial and error mostly. Just save a backup copy of your original file.

In reply to: WordPress as front page of existing website?In essence, you’d be using WP as a CMS. You can use the Links option to link to your existing html pages, or use the Page option and copy-paste their content in a WP Page.

In reply to: Random Header Plug-In?Neat! It works well when calling it directly using my browser. How do I put it in my code?
In the theme CSS stylesheet it now calls for the banner as:
#header {
background:#fff url(img/top.jpg) no-repeat bottom;How would this work using the rotater script?
<img src=”http://example.com/rotate.php”>
thanks, Dan

In reply to: connections on 2.0They are in the /img folder. They show up as dividers between Posts or Comments, separators in the sidebar, etc. You don’t ‘use’ them. They show up as a result of the PHP code calling for them.
Two exceptions. When writing a Post/Page if you select ‘quote’ you will get the ” graphic. And, the little star shape shows up on bulleted lists in posts.
