It pushes the sidebar to the bottom and breaks the wc_posts shortcode after that. Actually I only want the page look like a regular page with header media after clicking the slider button. The issue concerning the footer is a consequence of the former and also less important, because the sidebar widgetd push the footer further below in most cases.
