Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: installation okay but Directory Listing DeniedAfter reading through the tutorial supplied it claims that the .htaccess is an apache thing. And that there are similar capabilities for NT. I believe I am using an NT server (Windows server 2003 Standard).
Is this fix still capable of working on my server???

In reply to: Absolute Nightmare – Help Neededsupposedly this can be fixed with the htaccess file. BUT not everyone will have one as I have read so you will just have to create one. If you do something certain WP will create one but it’s not always there.

In reply to: Absolute Nightmare – Help NeededRonnie,
when you log in you can try adding index.php at the end of your url when you login. That will help you see the admin area but you will have to do that every time. Not much of a fix but it will grant you access to the admin area for a permanent fix.
so if you go to http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/indes.php you will see the login page and then from there add in index.php. That should let you in.

In reply to: Huge WP error!!! Need Help!!!thank you, I use the MySQL command line client for my DB work, if you know of any tutorial that covers this but with the MySQL CMD client that would a huge help! If not I’m sure I can figure it out.
Also where would I find the .htaccess file? I have remote access to my server and can locate it there.
