I enabled `wp_debug` and was able to recreate the issue–but there are no PHP errors being reported. The problem ended up being that the “from” email address was different than my WordPress admin email and that caused an error. I switched to 1.9.6 and did a new install with a new database to make sure I had the correct DB config and I’m still getting the error notices from the plugin.
