 * None of those reasons applies to me, as far as I can tell, since our email list
is less than 500, we only send emails once a month, and our webhost is TOTALLY
awesome though not on your list. (You might add WP Engine to that list, if you
   care to.)

 * Thank you for this explanation. Unfortunately, we have been trying to get away
from “middlemen” in our email process, which is why wp_mail was a very attractive
option for me. Keeping the process “in-house” just seems to make sense. I prefer
a plug-in vs. using an outside service when it comes to SMTP. Is there any possible
benefit to using an outside service like SendGrid or ElasticEmail vs. internal
   WP email functionality?

 * The reason this is important to me is that so far, MailPoet FAILS in allowing
me to specify a “sent from” email, even with SendGrid in place and functional.
The “sent from email” is all wrong, and if they cannot correct this issue, I’ll
be looking for a different newsletter/email app. Sigh. I can’t even tell where
they are getting the sent from email address. Your app, Postman SMTP, takes care
of this issue and allows me to specify a delivery email, a reply email, etc.
Can you recommend an email or newsletter app instead of MailPoet? One that works
   with Postman SMTP?

 * Hi Jason, Thanks for the link! I guess I will see about using SendGrid instead.
Would be nice if MailPoet would accommodate your new plugin; it is receiving
great reviews! I hope MailPoet will respond to this thread/concern in the near
   future.
