 * It looks like I might have found the problem. I stress “might have.” Surprisingly,
there’s almost no posts about this on WordPress, and it took some searching to
find help in Google too. Judging from the lack of response on this form, I’m
assuming that few people have come across the issue and know how to deal with
   it.
 * If you start to see a drop in your page/site visits, it may have to do with duplicate
listings popping up when a search query is run on your keywords, tags, etc. I
don’t think Google likes that . . . so your page ranking is affected.
 * However, if you encounter the problem, the WordPress SEO plugin by Yoast should
correct it. In a YouTube video ([http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOjY4LVoghE](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOjY4LVoghE)),
Steve Wiideman talks about how tags can create nasty looking search results.
So, in order to avoid those (and duplicate search results), you can configure
the WordPress settings to eliminate the problem.
 * Good luck to you. Hopefully, I will start to see the messy tags and other junk
   disappear in the search results.

 * I know this long post is a lot to take in, but my site visits have dropped more
than 50% since July 1. I’m not sure what’s happening. For instance when I do
a Google search for “homemade dish soap,” when my listing comes up, there are
two in a row. One looks like this:
** homemade dish soap | Homemade Goodness
dirty dishes, soap recipe Don’t get out of the kitchen just yet!
 * The second one looks like this:
 * **How to Make Dish Soap at Home | Homemade Goodness
    Tags: dish soap recipe,
homemade dish soap, how to make dish . . . Homemade Goodness is proudly powered
   by WordPress and Buddy Press
 * Sigh . . . this is a mess. Why are my tags showing? And why is “proudly power
by WordPress” in the meta description location? I don’t know what has happened.
I’d love to hear from some of you WordPress savvy people. Please help.

 * On a similar note, it looks like my posts are ranking much more poorly on a Google
search. A week ago, for some of my posts, a search would place them on the 1st,
2nd, of 3rd page. Now, I can’t even find them unless I put the keyword in quotes
along with the name of my site.
 * In addition, posts with the “tags” show up before any posts where a browser looks
for the keywords. Very frustrating. I was just starting to make a little bit
of money off adsense. Has anyone else had this sort of problem. Advice would
   be helpful right now.

   Thanks for the help.

 * Thanks robwasripped,
However, I entered the following into My Custom CSS, but
   the #more is still displaying:
 * function remove_more_link_scroll( $link ) {
    $link = preg_replace( ‘|#more-[0-
   9]+|’, ”, $link ); return $link; } add_filter( ‘the_content_more_link’, ‘remove_more_link_scroll’);
 * I’m using the Custom Community theme. Should I enter it somewhere else? It’s
not really a big deal if I can’t fix this. It would just be nice to clean up
   the URL.

 * But you have to go to the post from my home page in order for this to work. Simply
click on the _Read the rest of this entry →_ for one of my posts. Then you’ll
see the additional URL text in the address tab.

 * My custom community theme is: By Themekraft, Version 1.13. I’m not sure why you
cannot duplicate it. I have had this issue pointed out to me by others who have
   visited my site.
 * In the address tab, when you visit one of the FULL posts for one of my blogs,
you’ll see additional text at the end of the URL name. It starts with #more.
   For instance, [http://www.homemadegoodness.org/dishwashingdetergentrecipe.html](http://www.homemadegoodness.org/dishwashingdetergentrecipe.html)**#
   more-454**
I get the same results on Firefox, Internet Explorer, and other other
computers. It’s not necessarily an error. My page content pulls up fine. I’m
happy with my site. No bugs. It’s just that pesky “#more” at the end of my URL
   for each post.

 * Yes. If you go to my home page (www.homemadegoodness.org) and then click on “
Read the rest of this entry →” for any of my articles, you’ll be taken to the
   post’s page.
 * For instance, the actual URL for my Homemade Glue post is ([http://www.homemadegoodness.org/easyhomemadeglue.html](http://www.homemadegoodness.org/easyhomemadeglue.html)).
But when you click on it, the URL shows as ([http://www.homemadegoodness.org/easyhomemadeglue.html#more-404](http://www.homemadegoodness.org/easyhomemadeglue.html#more-404)).
I need to find out how to get rid of “#more-404.”
 * I’m not sure why it’s doing that. All of my posts are doing this. Even if you
access the page from a “backlink,” it always shows the additional text in the
   URL. Any tips?
