 * I think that may well be very possible as I had a purchase made on the online
   store which I manage and maintain for a company today while maintenance mode 
   was on. Then I turned it off but the site remained in maintenance mode… I cleared
   cache browser and with wp-optimize and it was still there so I actually disabled
   the plugin. I’ve been using it for years without a hitch.
