Unfortunately it was not the permalink setting. * However prompted by your suggestion I looked in the General settings. Instead I tried using the Twenty Eleven theme and different combinations of plugins. Eventually It appeared that the problem was caused by WP Forum Server. Why I do not know but at the moment we need a shop more than we need discussion forums. * The same fix currently also works with my chosen theme. * If someone knows how I can have both plugins working I would appreciate knowing! * Many thanks.
