 * Under BackWPup Settings -> Jobs
there is a “Reduce Server Load” setting. I enabled
that feature and my host seemed satisfied afterwards that I wasn’t hogging the
server resources anymore and haven’t disabled my script thus causing the 404
   error.

 * The 404 error that I was getting was because of a permissions issue. I first
noticed there were messages in my cPanel error log that mention insufficient
permissions. My hosting company had blocked access wp-cron.php because:
 * “Your script /home/myusername/public_html/mydomainname.com/wp-cron.php was causing
extremely high processing on MYSHAREDSERVERNAME :
 * As such, the script has been renamed as /home/myusername/public_html/mydomainname.
com/wp-cron.php_contact.support. This means that the script is no longer accessible
and cannot use up the resources on the server. Please let us know what changes
you will be making to correct this issue. If you are using plugins for Word Press
or Joomla, we ask that you check them for available updates.”
 * So, I’m still thinking this is a backwpup issue.
    Anyone have any thoughts on
narrowing it down or coming up with a solution other than trying a different
   backup plugin?

 * Just an FYI to follow up on my previous post in case it somehow relates to your

 * I deactivated the plugin and uninstalled it. Then re-added the plugin and created
   a new backup job.
Still got the same error. I thought it was worth a shot……
   🙁

 * I get a similar error.
“The HTTP response test get a false http status (404)”
 * While I have the plugin running successfully on several sites, I have two sites
   that give this error.
 * Any idea what would cause it?

 * I’m running the plugin on 9 sites. 7 work fine. 2 are now giving “The HTTP response
test get a false http status (404)” error.
Sorry I don’t have anything to add
to a resolution, but I’m leaving a comment so that I can follow this thread in
   case a resolution is posted.

 * Any resolution to this? I’m getting the same thing on two of my sites even though
its working fine on several others.

 * Thank you very much for the response!
 * When I look at the wp-config.php files, the database name is actually the same
for both (DBase11), however for My1stSite.com/MyBlog the table_prefix shows “
   pre1” and for My2ndSite.com the table_prefix is “pre2”.
 * If I go to phpMyAdmin and look at DBase11, all of the tables have a prefix of“
   pre2”.
 * I’ve never removed a WP install before but after reading a few posts online I
would be more comfortable doing a manual uninstall rather than running the Fantastico
script since I’m concerned that it may not remove it correctly. (Recall that
Softaculous gave a different database name for my 2nd site.)
 * – Is it common to remove the WP install and the Database in separate steps?
    –
Should I be safe to go ahead and delete DBase22 since it is not used by either
WP install? (Should that be done through MySQLDatabases? phpMyAdmin?) – Do I
remove the WP install by just deleting the full My1stSite.com/Myblog directory?
Or is it more complex than that?
 * Thanks again.

 * Just following up on my last post.
 * I deactivated *every* plugin and the behavior of the tag cloud stays the same:

If I use the default permalinks then the tag cloud works fine but if I try to
use other versions of the permalinks then all of my tag cloud links just point
   to my homepage.

 * Thanks again. No luck yet but I appreciate the advice.
 * I changed to Twenty Eleven (which I think is the default theme right?). I still
   had the same behavior.
 * I deactivated any plugin that I thought had anything to do with links (and most
of the rest of them too) but nothing has changed yet. I’ll keep trying later
   this evening.

 * Thanks for the reply.
 * Hmmm. Well you’re definitely on to something!
 * When I changed it back to the default, then the tag cloud works.
 * But, when I try to change it to the setting that I have been using “Month and
Name”, or just “Post Name” then its still broken.
 * Does the above behavior give you any better idea where the issue may be?
