 * Hi “Old Stick”, I have done some troubleshooting with the Theme Authors and it
   is actually a bug. They are working on this now, I will let you know when it
   is resolved!

 * Hi, no problem!
 * To fill out the “our focus” section content with images, you have to go to the
   Widgets and fill out the images and links for the “Our focus widget”. What I
   don’t know is if those images are also hyperlinked to the links, or just the
   content.
 * I actually just tried to include the links to pages in mine, and it doesn’t seem
   to link to anything. This may be an issue with the code. I will contact their
   support team and will get back to you when I hear what’s going on.

 * No problem!
 * Those are default settings for WordPress, that all pages besides the home page
   have a sidebar. You can go to widgets and just “drag” them off that side, but
   that keeps a sidebar on your pages. So you only want to do that if you want to
   add different content to the sidebar (like a form for visitors to contact you,
   etc.).
 * Instead, you can also choose all your pages to have “full width” template and
   that should take away the sidebar on your pages. You do this by going to edit
   each page (that is not your home page), then look to the right of the content
   and you’ll see about mid way down the screen where it says “template” under Page
   Attributes. Just select “full width template” and that should take away the sidebar.
 * I’m glad I’m able to help! Just let me know if there is anything else.

 * Yes, by selecting “latest posts” you are not opting for a blog site. It is the
   setting that tells the theme to display the home page they have designed for
   it. You would think that it would do that if you set up a static page, but it
   doesn’t. I know it’s confusing, but it’s the only way it works. That is driven
   by the settings in the theme developer’s code.
 * WordPress is definitely now an all around CMS theme. The majority of websites,
   including business sites, are using blogging for their content marketing and
   online marketing efforts, so I am thinking (just my opinion) that’s why that
   terminology has not been changed. We set up sites in WordPress specifically so
   our clients can manage the content their own and don’t have to deal with opening
   HTML pages with static content.
 * Luckily it’s a feature that is built in and available for all wordpress sites,
   but if you don’t set up a page for it, you don’t have to use it.
 * Does this make sense?

 * Hi “OldStick”,
 * I understand what you are saying. My site is not a blog site either, it’s our
   business site. I have set up many WordPress sites for ourselves and others, and
   this theme looks great but it’s definitely quirky in how it works.
 * When you select your “latest posts” for the front page displays in the “reading”
   section, it will activate the pretty home page with all the sections and widgets
   that you will edit in the “Customize” section under Appearance. It will not display
   any blog posts on it. As a matter of fact, it won’t display any blog postings
   at all unless you create a separate page and then make the template for that
   page “Blog” or “Blog template with large images”.
 * So basically it’s the reverse of what you would think. Once you set up the front
   page display to “latest posts”, you can follow their documentation to make changes
   to the content of that page by going to Appearance -> Customize, and then following
   this: [http://themeisle.com/documentation-zerif-lite/](http://themeisle.com/documentation-zerif-lite/)
 * I hope this is helpful! Write back if you need more help. I am still amazed by
   how different implementations can be depending on the theme.

 * I had the same problem and what I did to fix it is I grabbed all the CSS from
   the parent theme and included it in the css for my child theme. Then I still
   do changes in the child theme. I know this is not how it’s supposed to work,
   but it’s an acceptable shortcut for me right now.

 * I just read in a different post (the ThemeIsle support forum) that you actually
   have to choose the “latest posts” for the front page displays settings in the
   Reading section. I never would have figured that out! Latest posts would go completely
   against the logic that this is a static page.
 * I tried it in mine and now it shows.

 * I already did that. I went through the entire document I linked to in my original
   post, where I loaded the logo (that’s the only thing it shows), the big title
   section, our focus, our team, etc.
 * I can’t leave it like this for long because it’s a live site, but you can take
   a look here:
    [http://www.cloudenup.com/](http://www.cloudenup.com/)
 * I’m not the only one with this problem. Is this common if this is a site that
   already exists with pages and content, and maybe somehow it’s not using the right
   home page? Not sure what else to do.

 * I have the same problem. I just installed Zerif Lite and entered all the information
   in the “Customize” section, and nothing. It would be helpful to get instructions
   on how to “activate” the home page. Thank you.
