Gonna try resetting the plugin folder but I can’t log in to the admin area so I’m not sure what good it will do. Ack it’s acting like it doesn’t see it. Ugh. Besides, this site obviously gets enough new content that I don’t want to cache old builds. * Anyway, the slowness is on the back-end, not so much for the user. That and the errors (and to a lesser extent the inability to email a backup file) leads me to believe that there’s a size at which WP starts to lose its ability to manage the DB efficiently.
