    I sent you the debug report via your email contact form.

    I keep trying to use filezilla with my account. It works in SSH mode, but then all I see is a bunch of system files that I assume are usually hidden. I cannot find my content. Just regular ftp (“normal” “insecure”) will not connect. I would say perhaps I’m using an incorrect setting, but I’m doing it how GoDaddy’s tutorials say I should.

    What’s an address I can email you my debug log, so it’s not listed publicly?

    I have some screenshots to show you, http://postimg.org/image/t6fisu3b1/

    Also, since last night when I posted this, I’ve tried:
    upgrading to PHP 5.4, because of something I read on another thread regarding missing mime content type. It didn’t help.

    I’ve tried uninstallig and reinstalling 3 times (incl. deleting the wp-content file if it wasn’t deleted already before reinstalling).

    I made sure my “SSH” privelege was setup, as it was disabled before. I thought this would maybe allow the “exec()” privelege to be enabled. I’m not sure if was responsible for this or not, but now I show on your plugin as having exec() enabled, whereas last night I’m pretty sure I did not, so I suppose that’s progress.

    I’ve checked the folders’ permissions using windows explorer’s ftp client (shown in screenshots image). I assume the permissions are as they should be.

    I’ve tried again a few times to transfer the files w/ the suffixes removed after renaming, but to no avail.

    Here’s what the plugin status message says currently:

    jpegtran: Installed version: Emulating The Independent JPEG Group’s libjpeg, version 6b 27-Mar-1998
    optipng: Missing
    gifsicle: Missing
    pngout: Missing Install automatically | manually – Pngout is free closed-source software that can produce drastically reduced filesizes for PNGs, but can be very time consuming to process images
    safe mode: Off  exec(): Enabled
    Graphics libraries – only need one, used for conversion, not optimization
    GD: Installed  Imagemagick ‘convert’: Installed
    Only need one of these:
    finfo: Missing  getimagesize(): Installed  mime_content_type(): Missing
    file command not found on your system
    nice command not found on your system (not required)

    The only search-related php page I see in my theme is titled “searchform.php”. Do you think this is why your plugin isn’t working for me? If so, can I try editing your plugin and change references to “search.php” to “searchform.php”?

    Thanks

    Solved.

    This all started out as a permalinks problem. For some reason, suddenly the custom permalinks can’t have “index.php/” after the root. Very annoying since I have documents with links that reference my blog, and that has to be redone. Why did some WP coder decide to suddenly screw over users that used that custom permalink scheme?

    Also want to mention that my WP install is in a subfolder of my domain: i.e.; “http://domainname.com/blog/index.php”, if that matters.

    I should’ve just called GoDaddy right off, because they support WP nowaday, and the conversation was painless. I had taken a few ill advised steps to “fix” my blog yesterday. After a half hour, the 2yr-old database backup that I restored to was restored back to a day-old database. This cost $50, but was my fault not paying attention to the date of the backup – I thought it was a 22hrs old auto-backup, not a 760 day and 22hrs old backup – read all of the numbers and don’t make hasty decisions that aren’t related to permalinks problems.

    GoDaddy rep also made sure my files were backed up to the day before, just to make sure the files and database were from before I started screwing around with them.

    Once all that was done, I was instructed to copy my custom permalinks string to a notepad, in case we needed it again: /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
    and then I was instructed to click on any other permalink option (chose “default”), and click save. That worked. Suddenly the “no input file specified” message disappeared when I clicked on a link. But my old documents with links to blog posts would need painstaking editing (and any other links still posted from years past).

    I feel screwed by whatever change was implemented for whatever reason. Doesn’t seem necessary, but when I tried going back to my old custom permalinks string it still didn’t work.

    Thanks for any recommendations, but the moral of my story is: If you have GoDaddy hosting AND WordPress problems, JUST CALL GODADDY FIRST! They provide 24/7 assistance, and they support WP (which I had read out-datedly and no longer correctly that they don’t support WP on this site, so I didn’t call them until I exhausted my poor attempts at fixing the issue). GoDaddy – for as much as people on this forum and elsewhere complain about them, seems to have excellent tech support, the few times over the last several years I’ve had to call them.

    anyone familiar with this?

    Could be… Next time (hopefully there is no “next time”, but…) I’ll try to remember this and use the GoDaddy ftp service.

    I never deleted the folder named “plugins”. I just deleted all the subfolders (individual plugin folders) from the server when WP uninstalled them all — and after backing them up to my local machine.

    I’m not sure why they don’t just reinstall when I upload them back to the server (if that’s how they’ve worked in your experience?), but it’s never been that easy for me, and this isn’t the first time I’ve tried doing that.

    I downloaded all the plugin folders to my local computer, then deleted them all from the server. But when I would move a folder back to the server from my local machine, they didn’t just “appear” or install. So I had to re-search for them all, install them through the WP Admin Plugin tab.

    Still, for some reason that I don’t understand, usually most of my info and settings were auto-populated after re-installing the plugins, even though their folders should have been new and clean installs.

    Am I missing something that would’ve made this easier?

    I got it to start working again after deleting the “Platform” theme via FTP (using Adobe “DreamWeaver”). Of course, I had to go back through and remember to reinstall the plugins I used before, as WP uninstalled them all for some reason. But most of their settings were automatically remembered (not sure how that works). Now if this could just stop happening every 6 months or so, that would be great.

    Thanks for the help Matthew!

    I’ll try what you’ve laid out tomorrow night (too tired tonight!). I also tweeted the Pagelines Platform team with this forum’s url address to see if they have seen a lot of this lately.

    Thanks Matthew! Appreciate your help.

    Thanks for the info, Matthew. I would go post for that plugin, but I’m starting to wonder if this is a more systemic problem? Seems like all the sudden, all syntax is super critical, since I’m getting these other errors on my theme and such? Any suggestion on what to do to get my blog back up?

    Thanks.

    (@bunda3d)

    Okay, so I went in and deleted the curly brace in the “Like” plugin folder that was creating a parsing error (I know nothing about PHP, so…).

    Now I get THIS error message:

    tr>
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/content/72/4192772/html/blog/wp-content/themes/platform/sections/wp/section.content.php on line 41

    and here’s what that file looks like:

    (starting at line 39)

    End of section class
    */DMIN_ICONS . '/document.png'
    		);

    	   parent::__construct($name, $id, $settings);
       }

       function section_template() {
    		// included in theme root for easy editing.
    		get_template_part( 'template.content' );
    	}

    }

    /*
    	End of section class
    */

    Anyone know what to do about this? Please advise.

    Nevermind. I just needed to be patient. After a while it started working.

    I’ve since deactivated this plugin because of theme bugs and installed a different one, but I would rather use Wapple. If anyone can help me fix the theme bug, I would gladly reinstall.

    Thanks
