 * I’m having this same error and I have followed all of the instructions for the
   API ([http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/google-maps/api-key/](http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/google-maps/api-key/))
   as well as Events > Settings > Formatting > Maps > Google Maps API Browser Key.
 * Previous locations on the live view show the map but in the wp backend view, 
   I get the grey box. Help!

 * Well, it looks like the theme company has gone out of business. I’ll have to 
   install a new theme as there is no longer any support for it.

 * Thanks so much for getting back to me. I changed that setting from posts to pages
   but I still don’t see where I can change the sidebar settings. On a page usually,
   there’s an area where I can do that.
 * I even tried to create a new event thinking since the old events were set up 
   as posts, maybe they were still set up that way.
 * If you’d like, I can send you a screen capture.
 * Any help is greatly appreciated.

 * I didn’t touch a thing! It is advancing now but it seems like the activities 
   in January are not transferring over.
