 * Actually, don’t worry about replying — I just realised you did so in another
   thread, and on your website. The trick, for those who have stumbled here, is
   splitting your sql file up into parts, until each is small enough to work by
   itself. I note in passing that when moving to a new server it is essential to
   re-run your permalink settings in your options.
 * Cheers,
 * Brad.

 * Hi Podz,
 * Is there any chance you could post the solution here? I am currently having the
   same problem.
 * Cheers,
 * Brad.

 * Worked for me too — thanks for the tip.

 * Hear hear —
    Another problem with using Textile or some other text processor
   in WordPress at present is that the information sent out via the RSS feed is
   the pre-formatted text, which will not be parsed by 99% of RSS readers, one would
   imagine… Brad.

 * Just to add to the chorus, I have had the same problem, and ended up reverting
   to the original configuration (no parallel directories), and I agree with everyone
   else here:
    1. It’s a pretty important thing to have your weblog appear in the
   root directory of your site. 2. It’s also pretty important for the files running
   the blog to NOT be in the root directory of your site. 3. This should be a one-
   click operation from the admin screens, not an arcane hack. I for one would like
   to see the fix happen soon, before search engines find my site only for it to
   be moved… Brad. [http://home.exetel.com.au/brad/wordpress/](http://home.exetel.com.au/brad/wordpress/)

 * I’ve added the first hack above but am still getting problems for particular
   cases, for example [here](http://home.exetel.com.au/brad/wordpress/index.php?p=10),
   where the quotes are around an anchor. Do any of the alternative text formatters
   handle quotations properly?
