In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Reading TablesGreat, I’ve been able to read the info from a table in a loop.
Now, are there any examples that can copy specified columns of one table into another table?
Basically, I’m looking to import a single spreadsheet with lots of columns in it, and create additional tables programatically with just the columns I want for certain pages. Right now I’m setting certain columns invisible, but it isn’t as fast or smooth as I’d like.
I’m looking at import/export trying to get some ideas there, but I thought I’d ask if you had any direction.
Thanks again.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Reading TablesTobias,
Thanks. That’s helpful. Any examples come to mind where it loops through a given table’s rows, accessing column values?

In reply to: [Stream] WP Cron Entries in LogCan I assume you clean up these records if I delete the plugin? Not sure I can have this kind of buildup on the server.

In reply to: [Stream] WP Cron Entries in LogGreat, that seemed to help with the real time update.
When I try to filter only the N/A records, it doesn’t work.
Is there any way to delete the thousands of record I’ve got for those CRON updates?

In reply to: [Stream] WP Cron Entries in LogYes, I do use Updraft for backup. So that would explain those entries.
But this brings up the issue with the inability to filter using the log viewer. When I put a filter on, like using the search field, or when I select one of the drop-downs, it does filter the results… but it only lasts for 15 seconds or so. Then the screen flashes yellow, and the results become unfiltered. This makes it so the filter mechanism is pretty much unusable.
I think it has to do with Updraft continuously creating those other events, but it still is a serious usability problem.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Stream] Purging EntriesI’m getting literally hundreds of these on the N/A user:
“run_times” setting was updated
“jobstatus” setting was updated
“resume_interval” setting was updatedWhat do they mean?

In reply to: [Stream] Purging EntriesAlso, what does the user N/A mean when there’s nothing else? I see N/A “during WP Cron”, but what about when it says nothing like that?
Is there a way to get a list of unique IP addresses in the log file?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Stream] Purging EntriesThis is the screen that shows you can delete log entries:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/stream/screenshots/The link you provide for the N/A user is what I am referring to when I say it does not display the dropdown on all sites. The list of users (two of mine, plus the N/A user) does not appear. Its just not there. So I can’t put in any exclude rules if I wanted to.
Now, I am trying to filter out and see certain entries for a possible hack attempt. I am clicking on the IP address to see a list of the entries for a single IP address. The screen displays the records I want for a few seconds, then the lines flash yellow, and then the screen gets refreshed with the full list. It makes it impossible to debug the possible hack attempt! What’s up with that? The same thing happens when I put in the IP address in the search field. Displayed, flash yellow, overwrites. Unusable! And I need this info.
Tobias,
I got this idea to work nicely.
I have four fairly large tables I use throughout the site for a variety of displays. Sometimes I use the filter option to show only a few rows, and sometimes I show lots of rows where I need search. I don’t want to maintain multiple tables for each purpose, so I’d rather just tweak the display characteristics on a given page for what I want.
This idea works good, thanks again.
Brian
I realize its JS code! Its in a script that gets executed properly after the page loads, however it doesn’t effect the table. I have other tweaks I do in a similar manner to hide columns and such that do work properly. It seems to be with this search addon somehow.
Therefore, I’m looking to understand if there’s a timing issue I can work around by hooking to another event that gets executed when the table functions are done initializing.
Thanks,
BrianTobias,
I’m trying to use jQuery to hide the search box on some tables. This CSS should work, but it doesn’t:
jQuery(document).ready(function($){
$(‘.dataTables_filter’).css(‘display’, ‘none’);I’ve tried previously to do some CSS tweaks to the search box via jQuery without success. It seems like its loading that feature asynchronously or something because it doesn’t respond and that makes me think its not in the DOM when the ready() function fires.
Can you explain or offer help?
Thanks,

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] ResponsiveDude, that worked perfect. Learned something about conditional CSS based on media size too!
Again, your support is world class.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Make row ClickableI’m trying to use this idea with my table, but I want the link to be in an invisible column. I’ve tried monkeying with the visibility css setting, which makes the data invisible, but the column still takes up space. Ideas?
Thanks,
Brian
