 * Sorry, my bad.
WordPress 4.7 using 2016 theme, site origin page builder, SEO
pack, SSL and a couple of other plugins. I went looking for the theme style page,
but there isn’t one. So I went into a CSS folder and found 41 CSS files. Doesn’t
sound right somehow, so I am looking for help. I also found on opening up one
file a heading of ” TinyMCE and Quicklinks toolbars” and “/* TinyMCE widgets/
containers */” if that is of any help.

 * You missed the point. There is nothing in the ‘basic’ package. You can download
the plugin but it only produces ‘markers’ there is nothing in them, so nothing
is produced. It only works when you download the premium features.
    So, I stand
by my original post, it’s close to being a ‘scam’ or ‘comeon’ and should be deleted.

 * Tried that didn’t work. Finally found a method of checking permissions and they
can’t be right as they all show read and write, but the ‘group’ is read only.

So how come the permissions on the whole WordPress file were changed over, surely
they were not downloaded as such, but after ‘unzipped’ they are.

 * Not a ‘silly’ question at all, if it supplies an answer.
    I’m unsure, here is
the url. /opt/lampp/htdocs/wp-admin. that’s in Linux. But the links are different
   in Windows as follows. /var/www/html/wp-admin.
 * Back to linux.
There is a /var at the bottom of the lampp directory. So I’m
wondering if it should be /opt/lampp/var/www/html/wp-admin What do you think?
I’ve just drilled down and find under the /var mysql/perl/proftpd/run then drilling
down even further I find phpmyadmin. wp_ Do you think I should try loading in/
   var/www/html? Sounds logical to me!

 * Thanks for that kjodle, problem is with Xampp the files are all sorted in ./opt/
lampp so the issues with var/www/html don’t apply, and the htdocs files are below
   that.

 * I believe I’ve had this problem once before, gave up on Linux and moved it all
to Win 7. But now I would like to sort this matter out, so would request more
   info.
I have checked the permissions and they look correct but am unsure on
that point. I fail to understand what would change the permissions on the whole
install? All I did was to download the program files, unzip, then copy and paste
   into the htdocs folder.

 * “Seems to work in many cases” But not mine.
Got round to trying again. Loaded“
Duplicator” from WP, but when I come to use it “create new” I get a server error“
Server support Fail” all the suggestions are based toward the server administrator,
but I’m on localhost. It would appear I need Mysql server 5.0+ to be installed.
   Any suggestions, please?

 * I’m not sure where it comes from, but I had a real problem with my PHPMyadmin
it took me days to work out that it placed a username as Phpmyadmin and would
not allow me to change it.
So my advice would be, don’t try to change it back,
if you’re on localhost you really don’t need security, and if you intend to ‘
hang it’ on the internet then it’s set by your host settings. Why use Mint? It’s
possibly the best support available and their load instructions can’t be beat.

What are you trying to do? Lots
of ambiguity in your post. One or two questions at a time would be useful.

 * OK here is the problem. Checked that file you suggested and found those “upload_max_filesize
   =64M
“post_max_size=64M” to be 128, but the ececution time was only 30. Changed
to 300 and now it works. Thanks.

 * Unsure where “global” comes in? I have just checked “localhost/wp-admin/php.ini”
   and find that “upload_max_filesize=64M
    “post_max_size=64M” “max_execution_time
   =300 Comments?

 * Been there done that! No change. Any other suggestions?
    From the amount of comments,
plus the amount of suggestions none of which work, this seems to be a major problem
   with WP.

 * I had a similar problem and had help to fix it.
    Stupidly I copied and pasted
those two lines, with no adjustment. They need to be adjusted for localhost and
should read …..’[http://localhost&#8217](http://localhost&#8217); Go back to
config file and rewrite those two lines, then when you’re ‘back in’ delete them.
If like me you’re concerned about changing to https, then look into Simple SSL
   an available plugin.
