 * I think I might be experiencing this as well.
 * When I activate the plugin and go to convoke.info/stuff I get the godaddy 404
   error page.
 * With the plugin disabled, convoke.info/category/stuff works fine.
 * The reason I’m chiming in on this thread is because convoke.info USED to be multisite/
   network. When I was developing this new theme (and testing out the no category
   base plugin) on a DIFFERENT test site (NOT network/mutlisite/mu) it was working
   fine.

 * This issue is affecting me as well (if I’m understanding it correctly). If the
   number of words/characters in the post is LESS than the number you specify in
   the plugin settings, you still get the ellipsis AND a read more link (provided
   you have the read more link option turned on).
 * In contrast, WP’s default excerpt function doesn’t add […] if the_excerpt actually
   returns the whole post.
 * Would love to have a workaround, even if it meant digging in the code a bit.
