 * this is now resolved, i found that when ever you viewed a page it logged you 
   out aswell, i re-installed wordpress and it fixed all problems

 * I asked my host for how he fixed this issue and he kindly responded
 * > in the config file for the website, located at /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/100-
   > plantedtankuk.co.uk.vhost, I added the line:
   > FcgidMaxRequestLen 1073741824
   > in the <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> section.
 * I hope this helps anyone who has an issue with not being able to upload any images
