AIOSEO is clearly being informed that the page is a 404, as the rewritten title of the page is as specified in the 404 Title Format entry under the AIOSEO General Settings. * Thereafter AIOSEO is adding a Meta Description to the 404 page. I have turned off my CDN’s optimisation process for you and provided a source extract from the 1st link I provided, so you can clearly see what AIOSEO is outputting – * ``` ``` * As to what’s hurting me, these URLs have been defunct for more than 6 months and I originally had a redirect coded directly into the htaccess file until I removed it in January. This includes the meta description being included on a 404 page. I can see that the update has an option to hide/remove meta description from paginated pages, which appears to work as described, and will hopefully eliminate the immediate issue of duplication notifications. It would be a nice feature though, as indicated in the original post, whether rather than opting to remove the descriptions entirely, if you decided to leave them enabled, the plugin appended a page number to the description. Previously when I used Yoast’s SEO plugin, the duplicates on paginated content was hurting my ranking. Google Webmaster is reporting duplicate meta descriptions on pages. Checking the source seems to show that AIOSEO is including descriptions from post pages in other pages.
