 * Thankyou for your response, however this solution hasn’t worked in the way i 
   was requiring. i was looking for the preview image to be scaled rather than cut
   and there dosent seem to be any way to do that unless there is some CSS code 
   that would tell a certain element to scale rather than crop.

 * Ok, it seems the general consensus is leading to – use a different hosting software
   so im going to look into setting up a LAMP Server config instead. Thanks.

 * Apologies, my wording makes no sense re-reading it. What i have done is install
   XAMPP standard windows install. Then,created a database in phpmyadmin, then installed
   wordpress in htdocs. I then setup wordpress through localhost (system with a 
   static ip address) once that was done i used Dynu DDNS to get it accessible over
   the internet. But my problem is i can only load the page over http protocol rather
   than https and every time i try to access it via the latter i get an error 401
