Hi mbrsolution,
Much appreciated for the quick reply. I have tried to rule out all the obvious ones as well including disabling caching and wondered if you are able to reproduce this strange one.Actually, I have a simpler way to demonstrate the challenge but don’t seem to be able to paste a screenshot so will talk through the steps.
If you install the plugin called “WP Crontrol” it allows viewing of the background WordPress cronjobs.
You can them see them in a list with these fields (there are quite a few, but I am picking out the plugin update cronjob I am trying to force):
Hook name: wp_update_plugins
Arguments: none
Action: wp_update_plugins()
Recurrence: Edit / Run NowThe cronjob list appears here >>> http://www.sitename.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=crontrol_admin_manage_page
If alongside the “wp_update_plugins” you click “Run Now” it doesn’t do anything and doesn’t update the plugins.
