Hi Matt,
I’m sorry you’re having trouble with my plugin. This was actually deliberate. Since tinyWYM uses extensive editor styling I didn’t want other editor styles to conflict with my plugin. The whole point behind tinyWYM is that it is NOT a visual editor but rather a markup highlighter.
Also, unfortunately I haven’t been actively developing tinyWYM since WordPress introduced the new Gutenberg editor which I felt made my plugin somewhat redundant.
Sorry I can’t be more help.
All the best,

In reply to: [tinyWYM Editor] Awsome approachThanks for the rating and feedback. Your idea is interesting. I’m not sure what the best approach for that would be either but I have a feeling most advanced users wouldn’t really need such functionality.

In reply to: [tinyWYM Editor] Please add support for more semantic tagsThanks for the suggestion. I’m happy to include those tags in the next update (hopefully coming soon) but just know that the WordPress editor doesn’t play all that nice with those tags since it isn’t really meant for that sort of content. Tags like <article>, <footer>, etc. belong in the theme files not inside a post or page. Just something to consider.

In reply to: [tinyWYM Editor] Shortcodes get wrapped in p tagsHi Tim,
I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to mark this thread as resolved. Personally, I don’t think it’s a good idea to be using all those plugins simultaneously. You are bound to run into conflicts/issues and in my testing I did notice a couple but they aren’t really anything I can or want to fix since it would defeat the purpose of either tinyWYM or the other plugin.

In reply to: [tinyWYM Editor] Shortcodes get wrapped in p tagsHi Tim,
Thanks for contacting me. I’ll need to do some testing with those other plugins but tinyWYM shouldn’t affect the markup in any way when switching back and forth between the visual and text editors. The <p> tags added when switching between visual/text editors is something that happens by default in WordPress. It’s just that you can’t see it happening without tinyWYM or an equivalent plugin.
tinyWYM has two basic functions;
1. It adds a stylesheet that highlights the markup in the editor.
2. Adds a handful of keyboard/mouse shortcuts to allow for some slightly more advanced editing.My suggestion is that you disable tinyWYM then see if those issues still come up. In the meantime I’ll do some testing of my own.
