As soon as I deactivated all my plugins, as some solutions to the comment 404 error suggest, the spam comments started rolling back in. I had not changed anything when the 404 error for comments began. So I still don’t know if it happened when I activated a new theme. * I don’t mind activating Twenty Eleven to see if my current them (Cave)is the issue, but I don’t want to leave Twenty Eleven the theme for any length of time– I really like Cave and would like to continue using it, if possible. I had just installed CommentLuv right before I posted this topic on the forums. And my host went through and deleted the toxic code that was put there by the hacker. My website got hacked again and it took days for my host to get it back online. But yes, “2nd are you want to change the hyperlink on your header logo?” is what I was asking about. After some investigation, we found that my WP database wasn’t THERE anymore. I communicated with my host’s support using live chat, told them the db was no longer listed in my cpanel, the support tech said“ hold on a sec”, et voila! My db was back. Since then, though, I have had no luck getting my blog back.
